Welcome to a New Year
You have undoubtedly received all kinds of "new year" messages, emails, wishes, cards, etc. And while we do indeed wish you welcome to a new year, we'd like to encourage you to think about a few things as the year starts. First, goals are great, but vision is better. The reality is that vision, a clear picture for a desired state in the future, always finds a way. Goals are steps to get there, but the "there" is the powerful thing. Vision compels us, drives us, and pulls us forward even when we don't feel like pushing ourselves. So, take some time to consider what you really want for the future, or take some time to review what you've been thinking. Get clear. Lock it in. Let it be the force that moves you. With that clarity, it becomes a great time to take a fresh look at your goals and ensure they'll contribute to that vision. Many people's goals are more like "to do lists" than goals. Goals should require a bit of a breakthrough of some kind. They should call on you to be different than you have been before, or even better than you've been before. Goals are about stretching so that we be, do and have the things in our lives that will take us toward our vision. These conversations aren't always easy, but they're important. Want some help? We're happy to be in the conversation with you. But regardless of your vision for the future, make sure it's one that inspires you and one that you act upon. Welcome to a new year.
