2018 Federal Budget

Finance Minister Bill Morneau announced the release of the 2018 Federal Budget yesterday, February 27th, 2018. This Federal budget continues to see a break from traditional budgets and moves towards a continued focus on the middle class. Some highlights from the 2018 Budget include a continued focus on the middle class and some relief on the passive investment income within private corporations, with a new and less complex approach. There is also a strong push for gender equality both in Canada and Internationally.

As far as personal and corporate tax rates are concerned, the budget does not include any changes to these areas. For more information on the 2018 Federal Budget, we encourage you to read through these two summaries compiled by CALU and KPMG to familiarize yourself with the recent budget changes and, as always, we welcome your questions.
